"PRYSMS Aces"
PRYSMS Aces is a program designed to prepare students to have full access to college by providing support through the College Application process. PRYSMS Aces will select deserving high school students intending to pursue a course of study at either a two-year or four-year educational institution. The program will take place over the course of 4 months ( June - October) on Sundays (Dates to follow). Selected participants will engage in distance learning (video conferencing) sessions.
Goals of the program:

Students will participate in workshops that will provide them with the tools needed to successfully complete the college application. Workshops will include but not limited to:

Developing a list of “right fit” colleges to meet their unique needs

Completing the College Application Essay

Researching Scholarships and Financial Aid

College Tours
Criteria and eligibility:

Applicant must be a current high school junior.

Applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (or a “C” average).

Applicant must demonstrate a desire to attend college.
Program cost: $200 (Scholarships available)
Application Process:
Applicant must submit the following items:

Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)

One (1) letter of recommendation from choice of a high school teacher, administrator, counselor, employer, coach, or an individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience.

A recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average.

Personal Essay. See application for essay prompt. Essay must be 250 - 500 words, double-spaced, 12 pt / Time New Roman font. Essay shall contain no grammatical errors.

Statement of Accuracy / Statement of Support by Guidance Counselor Form - to be signed by Student, Parent and Guidance Counselor; Upload with the application.
