"PRYSMS Aces"

PRYSMS Aces is a program designed to prepare students to have full access to college by providing support through the College Application process.  PRYSMS Aces will select deserving high school students intending to pursue a course of study at either a two-year or four-year educational institution.  The program will take place over the course of 4 months ( June - October) on Sundays (Dates to follow).  Selected participants will engage in distance learning (video conferencing) sessions.

Goals of the program:

  • Students will participate in workshops that will provide them with the tools needed to successfully complete the college application. Workshops will include but not limited to:

  1. Developing a list of “right fit” colleges to meet their unique needs

  2. One on one individualized College Application Essay Coaching

  3. Researching Scholarships and Financial Aid

  4. College Tours

 

Criteria and eligibility:  

  1. Applicant must be a current high school junior.

  2. Applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (or a “C” average).

  3. Applicant must demonstrate a desire to attend college.

Program Fee: $400 (Scholarships are available.)

Application Process:  

Applicant must submit the following items:

  1. Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)

  2. One (1) letter of recommendation from choice of a high school teacher, administrator, counselor, employer, coach, or an individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience.

  3. A recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average.

  4. Personal Essay. See application for essay prompt.  Essay must be 250 - 500 words, double-spaced, 12 pt / Time New Roman font. Essay shall contain no grammatical errors.

  5. Statement of Accuracy / Statement of Support by Guidance Counselor Form - to be signed by Student, Parent and Guidance Counselor; Upload with the application.

 

 

****Deadline for the application is June 10, 2022, 11:59 pm EST. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
